Congratulations on your decision to add a new furry family member! We look forward to helping you find the perfect match because that is our focus at Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. We are foster based, which allows our dogs and cats to be better socialized to family life. It also helps us know more about their personalities and temperaments so that we can do our best to make sure every adoption results in a lifetime of love and happiness for you and your new pet. It can take a little longer to find a match than a shelter-based organization where you go in and choose a pet but it’s worth the wait! When you find the pet that is perfect for your home and lifestyle, and that has received top notch vet care and lots of TLC, you’ll be glad you chose to adopt a rescue pet.

We have many wonderful dogs and cats available for adoption and new ones are added every day! You can browse our adoptable dogs or cats below or search by name, breed, age range, or size. Or, if you haven’t decided yet, that’s okay too! Your approved application is good for one year and you can consider multiple pets until you find the one meant for you.

FAQ about Adoption

The first step is to fill out an adoption application using one of the buttons below. Once submitted, you will be contacted by a member of our Adoption Team, usually within 48 hours. Please be sure to check your email and spam folder as sometimes more information is requested via email before we can continue with your application. If you do not hear from someone within three business days, please use our contact form or email adopt@angelsrescue.org (dogs) or catadopt@angelsrescue.org (cats).

Our team will check the references you provide, including your veterinarian if you have current pets, and your landlord, if you rent, to confirm rental policies.

An application approver will call you to discuss your application and assist you with the rest of the process.

Once approved, your application will be sent to the foster(s) of the dog(s) or cat(s) you are interested in for more information. If you both agree it’s a good fit, a meet and greet will be scheduled. After the meet and greet, if you and the foster agree to the adoption, we will do a home visit and you’ll sign a contract and pay the fee. Then you’ll have your new addition!

Please note that many pets, especially small dogs, puppies, and kittens, get multiple applications. Pets available when you apply may be adopted before you are approved or adopted to another applicant who also applied after approval. If so, we will continue to assist you until you have found The One!
